Fall weddings! And the things I love about them!

Ok, as some of you may already know; I am a HUGE fan of Fall Weddings!!! Here in Alberta we have a very small window in which to catch the good weather and the changing leaves. But if you happen to be lucky enough to get married within those 3-4 weeks; you are one of the fortunate ones! Because there is no other season I find prettier :)

I've gathered some inspiration from our community as well as on the interwebs, to show you just how amazing a Fall wedding can be... Summer Weddings are so popular, but hopefully if you are newly engaged some of these ideas will inspire you to choose a date in September or October. And if you already planning a fall wedding; well then I hope this lights your creative fire!

Up next are a few of my favorite elements when planning a Fall Wedding!

First let's chat Floral's. MY FAVE!!! I think Floral's are such an (undeniably) important element to any wedding. No matter what time of year.

They can be anything from simple to over the top, soft and classic to edgy and unique. Whatever the style of your wedding day is, you cannot go without floral's. They are everywhere! Bouquets, boutonnieres, floral crowns, centerpieces, decor; the list goes on! Fall floral's are often filled with more earthy tones; greens, golds, creams. With pops of rust and burgundy. It is such a timeless look.

Image 1: I fell in love with this beautiful floral crown when I first saw it! So simple. So elegant. And those little berries; Eep! The perfect touch for a Fall bride, bridesmaid or flower girl! Image source: Pinterest.

Image 2: This Bouquet is just incredible! And guess what?! It's all dried flowers and greenery! This look is not only unique but it brings together all of those earthy tones I love so much. Thank you Floriade for this beautiful inspiration!

The Fella's: Groom style in the fall is SO fantastic! This is the time of year we see the burgundy, rust, dark green and mustard colored suits come out and my oh my, do they look amazing! If a full suit in one color isn't your thing guys, then try a colored jacket with neutral pants or just add a great colored tie and boutonniere.

Up next - Bridal style. One thing I am LOVING is the trend of bride's wearing hats.... Can we please see this more, beautiful brides-to-be?! I absolutely love this look for fall. Especially when paired with an off white or colored gown. It creates such a soft, romantic feel. White gowns are beautiful against the green grass/trees in Spring and Summer. But I prefer to see a bride rocking a look like either of these below, when the leaves start to turn :)

Last but not least; Decor!!! The options are endless when it comes to Fall wedding decor.

My favorites include adding vintage furniture pieces to a head table, such as a beautiful loveseat or multiple armchairs, among other things. You can add pops of color by doing this while keeping the rest of the decor more muted and natural.

Armchairs such as these (above) are also a welcome addition to the time when you are getting photos done.

Being a photographer myself, I absolutely love adding a unique piece to the formal photos. A few shots of the bouquet, the groom and the bride on these pieces, will make for some truly beautiful gallery images!

Some fun ideas:

*Fall days are much cooler - have cozy blankets available for your guests to keep them warm. Especially if your ceremony is outdoors.

*The sun sets earlier so take advantage by using sparklers in the evening for some beautiful photos! AND use cafe/string lights all around your reception for a romantic and cozy feel!

*Use the natural elements around you to your advantage. The colored leaves make for a great addition to centerpieces and other design elements.

*Have a Fall inspired menu, like butternut squash soup and mini pies for dessert. Your guests will love it!
