You don't want to miss it :)
Tell us what drew you to the wonderful world of wedding videography.
A: Spending time with couples on one of the most celebrated and important days of their lives is an honour. Filming raw, unique chapters of life all while being in the middle of a story is one of the greatest treasures in my little world! It allows me to meet amazing people whose values align with mine and get creative while helping narrate their story. This leads to opportunities for developing meaningful relationships that last long after the wedding day itself. And lastly — almost every work day for me ends in a dance party. How can you top that?
What has been one of the highlights of your career so far?
A: Hands down it was filming the hiking elopement on a mountain top in Kananaskis this past summer and falling in love with every bit of that experience. What an adventure!
Describe your style of work.
A: I strive for my work to reflect nothing less than who you are as a pair, how you came to be and where you are going. I take pride in being at the right place, at the right time and capturing all the candid moments that unfold in your story. By focusing on the raw and real moments that unfold naturally on your wedding day I am able to create a film that is story-driven, playful and sentimental.
What sets you apart from other videographers in the industry?
A: I’m your friend first, vendor second. Capturing the in-between moments, filming the joy you experience surround by your friends and family, letting you just be in your element, in the most authentic way that is true to you. I am there to experience and celebrate it all with you and to help you take it all in, meanwhile creating the kind of a film that allows you to relive those moments of pure bliss over and over again, making your heart swell seeing your loved ones show how much they celebrate and support you. I’m here for that.
What would be your dream wedding/elopement to shoot?
A: Adventure hiking and camping elopement with Mount Assiniboine as the backdrop while the couple shares their vows and says “I do”.
Tell us a funny or unusual moment/experience you've had at a wedding.
A: While hiking the mountain for the elopement in Kananaskis, the weather was proving to be a challenge. It rained, stormed, hailed and snowed all the way going up, but the moment we got to the summit, the clouds parted, the sky opened up, the rain stopped and even a rainbow appeared. It was the most surreal experience, and perfect timing for the ceremony to begin.
Lastly, share something about yourself that you would like potential clients reading this to know about you!
A: I always had a strong passion for creating things that would make others happy. I started creating hiking videos and captured my friends’ joy taking over the closer we got to the summit. I filmed family gatherings and events for my loved ones, I captured the laughter and the joy of spending time together. I quickly learned that this was the driving force of it all: I was hooked on the feeling of capturing raw and unfiltered emotions of others.
I grew up in Europe and lived in Toronto for almost ten years, but Calgary is now home. I moved here primarily for my sincere love for the mountains. I love early mornings, I escape to the mountains as often as possible and most of my inspiration is pulled from music and spending time in nature. Being in the forest is my absolute favorite. I love to dance, I also sing and play the viola. When I'm not hard at work filming or endlessly editing my footage, you'll find me either hiking a mountain with Ted and Arya, travelling to a new place, eating at the newest restaurant in town or checking out the latest brewery.
