Wedding Trends 2020

Here at AWS we love ALL things wedding and it is our goal to provide our down-to-earth brides with, not only trustworthy vendors, but hopefully with some pretty great inspiration, ideas and tips too!

Here are some hot wedding trends for 2020:

Jungle. Think beautiful green palm leaves, wicker/rattan furniture and accents. And I guess if you're into it... zebra print?! Haha. I'm not sure how I feel about this trend personally. I like the idea of a tropical styled wedding far more than a jungle themed one, but that's just me. Who knows, with the right designer/planner a jungle wedding could be beautiful... couldn't it?! (Your wedding song could be "Africa" by Toto, a personal fave!)

Modern Minimalism. Be still my minimalist heart! This trend is right up my alley. Clean lines. Solid colors and very simple details. Greenery is often used as the main floral detail and blooms are kept in the neutral/blush tones. Acrylic table numbers/signs come to mind when I think of a minimalist wedding style too. It's simply beautiful and absolutely timeless.

Neo Mint. Although the Pantone color of the year is not mint (it's classic blue), mint seems to be a very popular wedding color this season. I've seen it as both the primary color (bridesmaids dresses, ties etc) and as an accent color in the past. I think less is more with this trend. I'd opt for accents like mint glassware, stationary, jewelry and so on. Another fun idea would be to add that color into your evening with mint colored macaroons, mint chocolate chip ice cream or mint frosted cupcakes!

Earth Tones. Another favorite! I can't help but love a nice earthy color palette. There are so many options when working with earth tones and what I love most is that it's just so effortless. These tones are often associated with the boho vibe and for good reason. Earth tones say laid back, natural, simple and down-to-earth :)

Well that's it for our 2020 wedding trend list. Thanks so much for reading! Throughout the year we'll be covering as many wedding topics as we can! This 2020 trend list was compiled by simple internet research. It is in my own words and has not been copied. In no way is this an official list, it is simply for fun with the intention to share with brides and vendors! - Melanie, owner of Alberta Wedding Social
